Hello there, my name is Erin Moore.
It’s important to me to meet people where they’re at, without judgement, recognizing that we all experience hardships and pain. I utilize my own experiences with emotional pain, both personally and through those close to me, to connect therapeutically with those I serve. My experiences as a Counselor have not only shaped who I am as a person, but given me the opportunity to utilize my passion to partner with you as an ally in your journey to recovery. I am here to help. You chose what we work on. We get there together.
My spare time tends to be consumed with snuggles from my sweet Goldendoodle, Stanley. I enjoy hiking, concerts, and I love to travel. At any given time you may find me planning my next trip!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). I graduated from East Carolina University with a Master of Science in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling. I also received certifications in Military and Trauma Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling.
My specialties include severe and persistent mental illness (Schizophrenia, Bipolar, and Major Depressive Disorder), grief and loss, stress management, trauma, anxiety and addiction. I am proficient with many differing age groups, to include the aging population, adults, and young adults. I recognize that mental illness and substance abuse also impacts loved ones, providing education and support while encouraging boundary setting and self-care.
My goal is to provide a relationship which you may use for personal growth.
My style is fluid, collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. I recognize that you are the expert on your life, maintaining a person-centered approach to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Radical Acceptance, Exposure Therapy, etc. Whether it's day-to-day stress, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, alcohol and drug addiction or trauma, I partner with you when life becomes un-manageable to work towards positive change. I strive to create an environment that allows you to feel comfortable, safe and facilitates growth.
I offers in-office and video counseling or Teletherapy (please check with your insurance if teletherapy is covered in the outpatient therapy benefits or you can choose to private pay).
Please note, clients are responsible for calling their insurance to verify insurance benefits for Outpatient Therapy (in-network or out-of-network benefits if Wake Counseling provider is not in-network with your insurance plan). Here are commonly accepted plans by this provider:
BCBS (Out-of-Network for Blue-Local Plans for Duke & WakeMed)
Aetna (credentialing pending)
Out-of-Network Insurance: I can provide a “Super Bill” or an Invoice for client to submit to their insurance for reimbursement. Client is responsible for verifying out-of-network benefits with their insurance plan.
Or let a third party like 'Better' handle your out-of-network claims. Better is an app for filing out-of-network health insurance claims. Send Better a photo of your claim and they will handle the rest, including determining your eligibility and following-up with your health insurance company. Download the Better iPhone app or signing up online.
