Welcome To Wake Counseling & Mediation

My name is Shannon Fahy, and I am the Clinical Director at Wake Counseling & Mediation. I have a Masters of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University and worked as an outpatient therapist for nearly 20 years before stepping into my current role. My leadership experience includes program development and management, team & individual supervision of therapists and counseling students, strategic planning, and quality assurance, among others. I have enjoyed transitioning from the roles of student, practitioner, and now mentor/leader over the length of my career, and I now find that the business aspects of service provision are where my greatest interests lie. I have been known throughout my life as someone who thinks outside the box, is creative, and is not afraid of innovation. I see great things for the future of Wake Counseling and am proud to be a part of everything that we are both doing now and have planned for the future!

In my spare time, I enjoy restoring, refinishing, and repurposing furniture. I will be learning to build furniture this summer, which I am really looking forward to. I also like reading, documentaries, and taking short adventures to new cities. I am a foodie and a music head, and I love a good long afternoon nap.
