ABOUT ME

Hi there, I’m Echo (she/her/hers). I’m originally from Arizona and have lived in California and New York, before calling North Carolina home. I enjoy the outdoors (beach & mountains), traveling at home and abroad, cooking, playing board games, and trying to keep plants alive. I live in Fuquay-Varina with my husband and our pup, Cora.

EXPERTISE

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) who holds my Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I attended the University of Arizona for my undergraduate education and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts. My previous career was in entertainment, private equity, and non-profit spaces where I worked with high-level executives before deciding to begin a second career in clinical social work.

My education and background training has focused on a variety of mental health issues and concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and substance misuse and addictions; along with various life and work stressors such as identity exploration, life transitions, career challenges and balancing work & family obligations. I work with teen, emerging adult, adult, LGBTQ+ and Veteran populations. In my most recent clinical experience, I worked with Veterans facing problematic substance use and addictions in both group and individual settings.

COUNSELING APPROACHES

You are the expert in your life, and I am here to join alongside you on this therapeutic journey. Together, we will develop your goals for therapy and a roadmap for how to get there. I approach therapy holistically, tending to the mind, body, and spirit; drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).

A typical session could include mindfulness and meditation practices, exploring thought patterns that lead to distress, developing alignment with your identified values, and increasing awareness of how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are related. Above all, I draw from a strengths-based and multi-cultural approach tailoring each session to every client’s unique needs and preferences.

As a therapist, I aim to create a welcoming space where your identities are respected and embraced. You will find a warm and nonjudgmental environment where we will work collaboratively through your distress, to uncover your joy, and create the life you want to lead.
